Novice or professional? You are invited to Run Bristol in the following events in 2008!

Throughout the year there will be opportunities for runners to train and prepare for a variety of races - and to get things started, the city council will be hosting its first-ever 10km run around the city over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Bristol 10k - Bank Holiday Monday 5 May 2008

The race route will be similar to the Bristol Half Marathon course, along car-free roads, starting from At Bristol and following the harbourside and along the Avon Gorge. It will be a great opportunity for new runners to experience a short version of the half marathon course.

Entry to the Bristol 10km race is easy by simply logging onto www.bristolhalfmarathon.com where full race details, advice, training schedules and entry details are available. Official race charities for the first Bristol 10km run will be Bristol’s 2007 half marathon charities: Penny Brohn Cancer Care and the Association of Children’s Hospices.

Enter the Bristol 10k on-line and reserve a guaranteed place in the Bristol Half Marathon!  If you enter the new Bristol 10K road race on-line by Thursday 31 January you will be given the opportunity to reserve a guaranteed a place in the Reebok Bristol Half Marathon. Reebok Bristol Half Marathon - Sunday 14 September 2008

The Bristol Half marathon this year celebrates its 20th birthday and will take place on Sunday 14 September. Entries will open on St Valentines Day so runners interested in signing up for the half marathon can do so on-line from early in the morning on Thursday 14 February at the official race website. Over 15,000 runners are invited to take part but you are advised to get your entry in fast to avoid being turned away as the race usually fills very quickly. This year's official charities are Association of Children's Hospices, St Peters Hospice and COCO.
