Partnerships
The Bristol Partnership
The Bristol Partnership is the city's Local Strategic Partnership. It brings together key public agencies, the business community and the independent sectors (voluntary and community sector organisations, higher and further education, neighbourhoods) to improve services and quality of life in Bristol.
The Bristol Partnership identifies priorities for joint action and develops the Community Strategy for Bristol - a long-term framework for the city. The Community Strategy 2006 sets out our shared Vision and long-tem aims to make Bristol an even better city with a high quality of life. We want to achieve: a thriving economy; learning and achievement; health and well being; high quality environment; balanced and sustainable communities.
The Community Strategy is an ambitious 20 year plan that all partners have signed up to. The Bristol Partnership, with Bristol City Council as the accountable body, also develops Bristol's Local Area Agreement. This is a 3 year agreement that sets out our delivery priorities and includes our performance targets and indicators by which we will measure our success.
Underpinning the work of all that we do is our commitment to our 3 principles:
- Closing the Gap between disadvantaged neighbourhoods and the rest of the city
- Promoting equalities and community cohesion
- Taking an integrated approach to sustainable development
